Well known across Europe for its glitz and glamour and exclusive luxury properties along the prestigious Golden Mile, there is actually a lot more to Marbella. It certainly is not only for the rich and famous but its variety offers something for everyone. Of course you can find large secluded opulent villas but also more affordable apartments are aplenty, from beachside complexes to those with spectacular views over mountains or nearby golf complexes.
The old town of Marbella has a real Spanish feel about it with its narrow streets, tapas bars and whitewashed houses. Plaza de Naranjos (Orange Square) with its restaurants and bars is favoured by locals and tourists alike. The old town certainly is a centre for the more laid back social life in Marbella although many of the younger party-seekers prefer the bars and nightclubs of the dazzling Puerto Banus, about 6km away.
A wide promenade, the Paseo Maritimo, that runs the entire length of the city is popular with local families and tourists, not forgetting the golden beaches, a huge range of restaurants and shops makes Marbella a perfect location for a holiday home and a sound investment for a rental property.
